1. It’s not just about stretching!
Yoga is not a warm up or cool down routine, it involves strength, balance and focus.
2. You don’t need to be able to stand on your head, it’s not just about poses!
It’s about technique, focus and breathing – it doesn’t matter if you’re doing the downward dog or the lotus… it’s about listening to your body and getting the movements right.
3. The ‘yoga body’ is a myth!
You don’t have to look a certain way or be a certain size to do yoga. Yoga is for everyone.
4. You don’t need to be flexible to do yoga!
If you’re not flexible it doesn’t mean you can’t do yoga – strength and flexibility will naturally improve the more you practice – that’s one of the positive things about yoga.
5. Pregnancy Yoga can help prepare you for birth!
Pregnancy yoga helps you learn breathing techniques to calm and soothe the mind. It can also help the baby get into the right position ready for birth.
