Our at home Hot Stone Massage is where our therapist uses smooth, heated stones or lava shells as an extension of their own hands to massage. The heat is deeply relaxing and helps to warm up tight muscles. The therapist might also leave heated stones in specific points to improve the flow of energy in your body. The stones themselves are usually basalt, a black volcanic rock that absorbs and retains heat well.

You usually start face down, with the therapist working on your back. First, the therapist warms up the body with traditional massage – then massages you while holding a heated stone. Hot Stone Massage is not appropriate if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, or are on medication that thins your blood. You shouldn’t get a Hot Stone Massage if you are pregnant or have sunburn. You also may want to reconsider if you are menopausal, as it may trigger a hot flush.

All you need to decide is where in your home you would like your mobile massage treatment. We recommend a quiet, warm room. Your RTG therapist will arrive with their mobile massage bed (it’s a proper massage bed, it just happens to fold for travel) and everything needed for your home massage treatment, including the towels.

While your therapist is setting up you will be asked to fill out our massage contra-indication form. At the end of your home massage treatment your therapist will retire to let you get settled in your own robe, then quietly return to pack up and leave you to rest and enjoy the benefits of your treatment for the rest of the day or evening.

Drink plenty of water after your massage treatment and allow yourself time to rest.

• Payment is taken in advance by credit/debit card or by quoting your RTG gift voucher or package code.
• Please note 48 hours notice of cancellation or time change is required.
• Please note that late evening/early morning massage treatments will incur an additional after hour fee of £15 (before 7amand after 8.30pm).
• Appointments outside London’s M25 are charged at 40p per mile.

• If at any time during your appointment you would like to extend your session please just ask your therapist.
• At the end feel free to put your next session in the diary with your therapist and they will update us directly to book this in.
