Make Up Do’s And Don’ts For The Festive Season

The festive period is right upon us! For the ladies, it’s important that we know what makeup trends we need to follow this season. With so much to offer at this time of year in the beauty world, it would be silly not to experiment and see what new looks you can create (especially for the office Christmas party, or family Boxing Day get-together!) We’ve created a guide of dos and don’ts for your fun festivities this year….

Do:-

Go ahead and try something new, different, and unique to your usual party face; fake eye lashes, bright red lipstick, glitter, smokey eye shadow – anything you like! Experimenting with new makeup trends is exactly what the holidays are for. Make sure you get in a bit of practice before revealing the new festive version of you to wow your family and friends!

Don’t:-

We love glitter, we do, but be careful! It’s never a good idea to use too much in one look. A shimmer on the eye lids can be gorgeous, but the same on your cheeks and/or lips will ruin the look – a big festive no-no!

Do:-

Playing with and perfecting your liquid liner look is key for getting results – a perfect winged liquid eye liner is guaranteed to turn some heads. Combine with a smokey, glitter eye and berry red lips and you’ve got a stunning Christmas day look nailed.

Don’t:-

Since the winter season is known to make your skin dull and dry, it’s always a good idea to make use of cream blush to achieve a radiant look during the festive period. If you have chosen a brighter color, make sure to keep on blending until it starts looks natural.

Do:-

Make sure you take all the time you need. A festive makeup look is certainly not going to be fun if you are in a rush, and you won’t feel a million dollars either! Consider your face as the canvas, try different things out and see what suits you. Everyone will get different results, but that’s part of the fun!

Don’t:-

Last but certainly not least, do not make the mistake of going to bed before you wash your makeup off using appropriate products. Everything from lipstick to the fake eye lashes needs to be removed before you get your beauty sleep!
